Kate's Style Tour Hits LA!
Posted by Connie on 7/9/2011 to Trends

The Canadians are still basking in the glow of the fabulously stylish Kate Middleton, the Dutchess of Cambridge, the future Queen, and Prince William's beautiful princess bride. This weekend, she has Hollywood all La La in LA. Yes, even the stars of movieland are themselves starstruck. Well, we can't all have that gorgeous figure, or designers begging to spot their couture looks on the fab Dutchess, but we can learn from her stylish ways.

Kate is into recycling fashion--she wears the same pair of black wedge shoes frequently, she takes the white dress worn for her official engagement photo and spins it with a fan shaped bag, red hat, and brooch in Canada...and as you see, she is wearing the same pearl earrings at a polo match with a cowboy hat and jeans and later with a suit at a friends wedding.  Proof the stylish Kate knows "pearls go with everything"...

Check out our pearl leverback earrings! At only $21, these versatile earrings are an easy way to emulate Kate's style.

Turquoise Tales
Posted by Connie on 6/8/2011 to Trends
One of my favorite summer memories is traveling with my family as a child on route 66 and stopping at the Native American stores to shop. That's where I fell in love with turquoise. The southwest is well known for this ancient stone, but it was the Egyptians who first treasured it as a symbol of wealth. It has also been mined in China for over 3,000 years. Simply put, turquoise has been cherished for centuries all over the world. The reason is simple; besides its beauty, it is the one stone that is flattering to everyone's complexion. Most of us in the US still think of southwestern as the only style for this beautiful gem and are often reluctant to consider it for ourselves or for a gift. Today it is set in so many styles and combined with other gems and pearls. Did you know that if you are given a turquoise by a friend, the stone brings good fortune and protects the wearer from negativity? Turquoise is also a symbol of friendship and is said to bring peace to the home. So this gemstone makes you more positive, shows you are a good friend and looks great on everyone--doesn't it deserve another look?

Glee Style: Miss Pillsbury's Statement!
Posted by Katie on 10/30/2010 to Trends
Miss Pillsbury, the germophobic guidance counselor on Fox's hit TV show Glee, has a very classic, ladylike style that is worth imitating. I love noting her accessories, especially. For a woman who can only eat one grape at a time, Emma Pillsbury is not afraid of a statement necklace. She also wears a lot of brooches, and even the occasional sweater-clip.

Okay, so grab a few strands of pearls and clip on a brooch...now you have a "statement" necklace!
